About the Doctor

Dr. Smith received his degree in Pre-Dentistry from Davidson College, Davidson, N.C. He attended Emory University School of Dentistry and graduated with Honors.  After two years in the U.S. Army Dental Corp., he returned to Emory as a Professor of Operative Dentistry for one year. Dr. Smith entered the Orthodontic Program and completed his residency at Emory and has been in private practice since that time.

Dr. Smith has spent many hours coaching Little League football, baseball and softball.  He enjoys spending time with his family, his dog, Bo, and playing golf and tennis.  Dr. Smith and his wife, Angie, have a son and two daughters.

Dr. Smith is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Southern Association of Orthodontists, and Georgia Association of Orthodontists - Past President, American Dental Association, Georgia Dental Association, Northern District Dental Association, Eastern Branch of Northern District Association - Vice-President, Emory Orthodontic Alumni Association - Past President, Hinman Dental Society, DeKalb Dental Study Club and The Georgia Damon Orthodontic Study Club.  He volunteers his orthodontic services to The Methodist Children's Home, Decatur, Georgia, and to The Lost Boys of Sudan.
